Lumi means "snow" in Finnish. She is a pure white ewe with beautiful pigment around her eyes. She is still a bit of an aloof ewe, but became a bit more friendly after having her first lambs. Lumi has turned out to be one of our best mothers. Each year she gets a huge udder and has lots of milk. She has fed 3 to 3 1/2 lambs each year.

In fall 2003, Lumi was bred to Teddy, a brown ram from the Wee Croft prior to coming to our farm. In March 2004 produced twin ewe lambs (Mara and Helmi). Mara is black and Helmi is white. However, both of these girls are recessive for brown and in April 2006, Mara produced our first brown lamb, Kahvi.

In March 2005, Lumi produced white quads, all with excellent quality wool when bred to Martti. One of those lambs is Pilvi.

In March 2006, Lumi produced quads again, 3 black and one white, when bred to Usko. Two of those lambs are Annika and Boris.
