"Elias"

(Eino x Anna)
Wether - Black (fading black with dark grey wool)
Born: March 23, 2002
Color Genetics: AA/AA, BB/B?, SS/S?
Fiber Analysis of Lamb Fleece: 26 Microns; CV=15.1%

Elias is a wether (neutered male). He was born in March 2002. We initially puchased him to be a pasture-mate for Rammy-lamby before we had any other rams. Now he lives with the ewes and two other wethers. Genetically speaking, Elias is black in color. He is what is known as a "fading black" and his wool is actually a gorgeous charcoal grey. He appears brownish in the photos because the very tips of his wool sunbleach in the summer. (This blends in when the wool is carded.) Every one of his fleeces has been absolutely beautiful. His lamb fleece had a micron count of 26. Elias is one of our most skittish sheep. Over time, he has learned to trust me more and he loves come over to be scratched under the chin.
